About this Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to deliver specialised workforce health services across diverse operational environments, including aviation, healthcare and remote settings.

In this role, you will work with a high degree of autonomy to support workforce health, safety and wellbeing through the delivery of clinical services, injury management and prevention initiatives, and health promotion programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating workforce health surveillance and fitness-for-work programs
  • Provide expert clinical advice and support for complex health and safety matters
  • Lead immunisation, vaccination and infectious disease prevention programs
  • Support injury management and return-to-work processes
  • Develop and deliver workplace health, wellbeing and risk prevention initiatives
  • Contribute to infection prevention and exposure management systems
  • Support organisational safety, quality and compliance frameworks
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across clinical, operational and corporate teams

About You

You are a highly skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse with strong clinical expertise and a passion for improving workforce health outcomes.You will bring:

  • 3–5 years’ post-registration clinical experience, ideally in occupational health, remote health, emergency or primary healthcare
  • Experience in health surveillance, fitness-for-work assessments or injury management
  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities
  • Sound understanding of workplace health, safety and clinical governance principles
  • Knowledge of workers compensation and WHS legislation
  • Experience in remote, aeromedical or high-risk environments (desirable)
  • Strong cultural competency, including working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

Qualifications

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Postgraduate qualification or demonstrated experience in Occupational Health Nursing
  • Remote Area Nursing or Emergency Nursing qualification (Desirable)
