The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) is seeking a passionate and proactive Community Engagement Worker/Administrator to join our growing Mental Health & AoD team in Lightning Ridge.

Supported by significant funding to expand services across the local community, this dynamic role will play a key part in delivering prevention, early intervention and recovery-focused AoD support programs. Working closely alongside a Mental Health Clinician and a multidisciplinary team, you'll help strengthen community connections, improve access to services and support positive outcomes for individuals and families.

This position is ideally based in Lightning Ridge, with opportunities to engage across the wider Walgett region.

About the Role

This is a highly autonomous role suited to someone who can confidently work independently, take initiative and build strong relationships across the community.

You'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of several community-based programs, working closely with schools, service providers and key stakeholders to increase awareness, engagement and access to support services.

Key responsibilities include:

· Delivering alcohol and other drug support, wellbeing and early intervention programs.

· Building strong relationships with schools, community organisations and local service providers.

· Attending and contributing to interagency and stakeholder meetings.

· Facilitating group programs, education sessions and community engagement activities.

· Working collaboratively with the Mental Health Clinician and multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care.

· Identifying emerging community needs and proactively developing solutions and opportunities.

· Supporting program administration, reporting and service improvement initiatives.

About You

We're looking for a community-minded professional who is energetic, adaptable and passionate about supporting people in rural and remote communities.

You will bring:

· Qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Health or a related discipline. (Cert 3 or working towards will be considered)

· Experience in community engagement, counselling, case management or AoD services.

· Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.

· Experience working collaboratively across multiple organisations and service systems.

· The ability to work independently and confidently manage competing priorities.

· Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

· A proactive mindset with the ability to think ahead, anticipate challenges and identify opportunities.

· A current driver's license and Working with Children Check
