Ruth Sandow's inspiring path with the RFDS

Ruth Sandow has taken her experience living at Pimpara Lake Station, 237km north of Broken Hill, and applied it to her Board role with RFDS South Eastern Section. From creating a family in Corner Country, a cancer diagnosis and recovery, Ruth understands how important access to healthcare is.

Over her almost 14 years’ on the Board, Ruth has seen growth in the primary care services offered across Far West and Western NSW, as well as supporting the organisation to respond to COVID. It’s been a role of a lifetime.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) South Eastern Section mission is to seek the best possible health outcomes for people in remote, rural and regional communities by providing better access to high quality healthcare.

The Board of RFDS South Eastern Section is seeking a voluntary Non-Executive Director with a passion for and commitment to advancing access to healthcare across regional, rural and remote communities. As an active member of a skills-based Board of Directors, you will support the strategic direction and the governance of the organisation.
