The RFDS in NSW/ACT
Health Education
We have a Mobile Education Unit based at our Visitor Experience centre in Dubbo, NSW.
Schools can book a tour of the Exhibition, participate in a tailored curriculum-based education session and board the Mobile Education Unit; a life size replica of the fuselage and cockpit of an RFDS aircraft. To book an excursion click here.
We also encourage educators to view our Flying Doctor online education program developed by RFDS Victoria and a team of practising and registered teachers.
The resource provides primary school students with an overview of the contribution the RFDS has made to Australia's history and its relevance today.
By combining real life Outback rescue stories with interactive resources, students learn about history, health and a range of subjects that closely aligns with the Australian curriculum.
It is based on the core values of respect, teamwork, leadership, fairness and compassion.
The program closely aligns with the Australian curriculum, and includes:
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Information and communication technology competence
- Critical and creative thinking
- Personal and social competence
- Ethical behaviour
- Intercultural understanding
