Sandra Olsen and Sam Drake ran the Support Crew marquee on the day and commented that it was great to have staff from many branches coming together to support each other and forge strong team spirit at the event.
“If it wasn’t for the Telehealth service, I couldn’t have travelled overseas to visit my two daughters. I met with the endocrinologist every week via the Telehealth service, and together we got my blood sugar levels down enough to the point where I could safely fly,” says Susan.
Lorraine’s bequest was a surprise to us – we had no idea she had included the Royal Flying Doctor Service in her Will. Receiving a bequest is always a bitter-sweet moment, but in this case there was an additional element of sadness as it was too late for us to say “thank you”, and let Lorraine know what her generosity means to the many people the Flying Doctor helps each year.
