Aircraft
Mount Isa Base operates aeromedical services and primary health care services using Beechcraft King Air 200 aircraft.
Services
Mount Isa is a traditional RFDS base, meaning we have Primary Health Care Clinics, Aeromedical retrieval and Inter-hospital transfers.
Aeromedical Operating Hours: From Monday to Sunday, we operate a Day Shift (6am - 6pm) and a Night Shift (6pm - 6am).
Primary Health Care Schedule:
Monday: No Clinics Scehduled
Tuesday: You could fly to clinics at Dajarra, Boulia & Bedourie (Boulia clinicians stay overnight Tue - Wed)
Wednesday: You could fly to clinics at Camooweal, Roxborough Downs, Adels Grove, Bedourie and you will collect clinicians from Boulia
Thursday: You could fly to clinics at Gregory Downs & Burketown
Friday (Week2): You could fly to clinics at Camooweal
Friday to Sunday: No Clinics Scehduled
Orientation
On your first day at the Base, you will receive a full orientation, be issued with any necessary IT equipment (such as a laptop and mobile phone), and receive your swipe card for building access. You will also have the opportunity to complete the required e-learning modules. This is also a great time to finalise your ASIC if you have not already.

Accessing the base
- On your first day, please ask for your manager at reception
- After hours, use your staff swipe card or contact the Base Support Manager
Accessing the base car
If a base vehicle has been allocated for your use, you will receive a confirmation email prior to your arrival containing the vehicle’s registration number, location, and any relevant access instructions. Vehicle keys can be collected from the lockbox located in the Hangar. Please ensure you return the keys to the lockbox and leave the vehicle in its designated parking area at the end of your use.
Arranging travel
Our Administration team will coordinate all your flight and accommodation bookings. You should expect to receive communication from RFDS via email (isalogistics@rfdsqld.com.au) to confirm all your bookings.

The RFDS provides 11 staff accommodation properties in Mount Isa. You will be allocated a property based on your cohort.

All Accommodation Includes
Linen and Bedding: Provided.
Fridge and Food Supplies: Fridge/freezer available; no food provided. Please remove all food and perishables before departure.
