Central West and Outback Mental Health

As part of our commitment to providing quality mental health services to rural and remote communities, the RFDS (Queensland Section) operates six mental health programs across western Queensland. These programs include:

    Far North Mental Health and Wellbeing Service

    Since 2000 the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) has been providing mental health services across difficult to access parts of Far North Queensland. 

    Our service provides culturally appropriate, evidence-based, psychological therapies to individuals who present with mild to moderate mental health needs.

    The service offers the following programs:

    • Psychological Therapies
    • Child and Parenting

    headspace Cairns

    headspace Cairns is a welcoming, safe space for young people aged between 12 and 25 providing access, support and information for a broad range of concerns, including mental health, physical/sexual health, drug and alcohol, employment and education and support for families and carers. 

    headspace Cairns is operated by Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section).
