Flight Nurse (Midwifery)

RFDS (Queensland Section) flight nurses specialise in providing aeromedical retrieval and inter-hospital transfer services.

They transport patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including acute medical conditions, trauma cases, the transfer of expectant mothers and infants to specialist care and much more. 

The clinical presentations requiring retrieval are diverse, including intensive care, trauma, emergency, cardiac, neurology, obstetrics, paediatrics, and neonates.

Primary Health Care Nurse

RFDS (Queensland Section) primary health care (PHC) nurses provide a range of healthcare services to rural and remote communities in the Far North and Northwest regions of Queensland.

This role provides an opportunity to engage and support people to reduce the risk of needing secondary and tertiary care. This includes providing clinical services on a rotational basis from the Mount Isa base.
