Orientation

The RFDS offers a comprehensive Workplace Orientation Program for new employees, which comprises online and face-to-face opportunities, to gain an understanding of our front-line operations and our promise.

As part of the Workplace Orientation Program, new starters based in the Brisbane Corporate Office tour the RFDS Brisbane Base for a firsthand look at how an aeromedical base operates. The purpose of the tour is to provide new employees with a brief history of the RFDS (Queensland Section), meet colleagues who work at the Brisbane Base and learn about the uniqueness of an operating aeromedical base. Brisbane Corporate Office based new starters will receive an invitation on their first day of employment with a scheduled tour date. For employees working out of other RFDS bases, a tour is provided as part of each local Workplace Orientation Program.

Superannuation

The RFDS (Queensland Section) understands the importance of superannuation and assists employees to plan for their future through our superannuation scheme. Of course, employees may choose to have their superannuation directed to their own existing super funds, or alternatively the RFDS have their own corporate superannuation fund managed through AMP. Those who are members of the RFDS AMP Superannuation Plan also have access to other benefits such as income protection and discounts provide by AMP. To find more information about AMP Custom Super and the RFDS Superannuation Plan, see below:

Salary Packaging

The RFDS, due to their current taxation status, is able to offer an attractive salary packaging service to its employees. To fully understand the features of salary packaging we offer employees the opportunity to attend Salary Packaging Advice sessions conducted by our financial advisors at no cost to the employee. You can indicate your interest on your Employment Pack forms. To find out more on each of these companies please read the RFDS (Queensland Section) Salary Package Advice

REMSERV has been appointed by the RFDS to manage the administration service for salary packaging. The RemServ Information Booklet has been developed to provide further detail on the available packaging services. We encourage employees to contact RemServ on 1300 303 940 (quoting the payroll number noted on the email received from the People & Culture team).
