Creating pathways to rural and remote medicine
Funded by the Department of Health, The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) in partnership with Cairns Hospital have facilitated medical intern placements for Post Graduate Year 1 junior doctors.
Expanding after-hours telehealth
It has been 10 months since we expanded our telehealth services from our Cairns Base to cover weekend hours. In this short period of time, the addition of this service has demonstrated significant improvements in access to remote Primary Health Care.
Strengthening our partnerships
Recently RFDS have had the privilege of signing two Memorandum of Understandings with the South West Hospital and Health Service and Southern Queensland Rural Health.
2019 Local Hero recipients
Now in its fourth year, the RFDS Local Hero Awards give the RFDS (Queensland Section) an opportunity to acknowledge and thank those incredible good Samaritans, volunteers and fundraisers who go out of their way to ensure the Flying Doctor will be around for another 91 years.
Woolworths shoppers support the RFDS to save lives across Queensland
This month, Woolworths are proudly supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) across their 248 stores in Queensland and Northern NSW, by encouraging shoppers to buy a $1 donation token with their shop.
