This year Queensland’s largest & most prestigious art exhibition is, for the first time, opening the gallery doors to submissions from artists around the country. The Rotary Art Spectacular, which has previously only accepted submissions by invitation, is hoping to spread its wings with the help of the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Queensland.

For 40 years, the exhibition has offered artists the opportunity to be awarded $12,000 dollars in prizes and has raised over $2 million for charities & community projects. The theme for this year’s award will be Art Giving Hope and the funds raised will be donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Queensland to help fund their Field Days.

The chosen submissions will be exhibited at Brisbane’s Central Plaza 1 offering artists the chance to have their work exhibited and admired by over 400 people on opening night. Previous winners include David Henderson, Anne Marie Zinetti & Jason Valenzuela Didi.

Artist registrations are now open and will close on Friday 22nd of March 2019.

Opening night: Monday 13th May 2019
Exhibition dates: Monday 13th May – Friday 17th May
                          8am-6pm
