“The story I was told about an emergency retrieval affected me quite profoundly. I thought, the Royal Flying Doctor Service does such an incredible job. I want to support them, too.” It was an unexpected conversation on the street that Felicity will always remember. She found herself thinking deeply about travelling at home, and how beautiful and vast Australia really is.

“We recently took a trip for a significant birthday, to Margaret River in Western Australia. The kids were absolutely blown away with how beautiful their country is. People take road trips all the time. There are people on the road everywhere just taking it all in, people from overseas, and anything could happen out there.”

Not long after, Felicity’s son Hadleigh became unwell while on a road trip in a remote corner of Australia and needed the Flying Doctor. Suddenly, the service she’d been supporting became very personal. It was a happy ending, but a reminder for Felicity of the value of her regular gifts.

“I certainly didn’t imagine I would ever need it. A lot of people out there have benefited hugely from such an incredible resource. I just think it’s money well spent. I’ve never regretted my decision and definitely don’t regret it now.”
