The Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern Section) continues to face some of the most significant challenges in our 92-year history.

Against the backdrop of a global pandemic, our dedicated frontline staff have continued flying to remote and rural locations, retrieving patients in times of emergency and providing essential primary, mental and dental health services to those who need it most.

Thanks to your incredibly generous support we have been able to operate in new and innovative ways, rising to meet the challenges of COVID-19 and overcoming barriers we never could have imagined before this pandemic.

While this has been an extremely difficult time for Australians in regional and remote areas, we know that they are not the only ones doing it tough. Everyone, no matter where they live, has faced unprecedented challenges during this pandemic, and that is why we want to say thank you for supporting us during this time. Without you,we could not have continued to operate in this difficult period, and without the Flying Doctor, many Australians would be left without access to lifesaving services.

As you will be able to see in this edition of the Flyer, our workload in the regions has only increased. Mental health services are more essential than ever, and we are continuing to perform critical emergency rescues. But we have also expanded our services, offering COVID-19 testing and respiratory clinics around the state.

Without you, none of this would be possible. We are truly grateful to you for being a friend to communities in the outback. We wish you all the best for the Christmas period and look forward to updating you on our work in the New Year. Please stay safe and look after yourself during these trying times.
