After 15 days and almost 950 kilometres later, our incredible supporters the Silver City Bush Treadlers, completed their 2022 fundraiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern Section) (RFDSSE).

Treadlers in action

Since 1996, avid cyclists from Broken Hill and beyond have explored some of the roughest roads and spectacular landscapes of the outback on the annual ride to raise funds for the Flying Doctor.

In July, the Treadlers set off from Broken Hill and traversed through the outback to remote places like Cameron Corner, Tibooburra, Milparinka and Packsaddle before making their way back to the city, completing the Ant Dare 2022.

Treadlers organiser, June Files, said everyone had a lot of fun, with many first-time participants seeing how valuable the Flying Doctor is to outback Australia.

"Thank you to everyone involved, especially our volunteers, who all made it another wonderful journey," she said.

The Treadlers are a major fundraising group, who for the past 26 years have been supporting the Flying Doctor, and in that time have raised in excess of half a million dollars.

We are so appreciative of their ongoing and generous efforts.
