Mobile Event Care
RFDS Victoria provides a Mobile Event Care service that is medical support service for event organisers and patrons attending events through Victoria.
We employ a range of dedicated and highly qualified first aid responders, paramedics, nurses and doctors specifically for our event medical support teams, as well as drawing on our extensive pool of Patient Transport Officers and Ambulance Transport Attendants from our Mobile Patient Care service.
Our Mobile Event Care service provides medical support to a number of events that vary in size from 100 to in excess of 100,000 participants.
Some events that we provide services to include:
- Football players at all Victorian AFL matches
- Melbourne Racing Club events, including the Spring Racing Carnival
- Motor sport
- Community events including food and wine festivals
- School events including sports days
- Community sporting events e.g. fun runs
- Corporate Games
Under the Department of Health Non-Emergency Patient Transport arrangements, RFDS Vic has an additional role as a designated Public Events Standby provider. This means that we can supply a fully equipped crew and patient transport vehicle at events to provide medical support and transport patients should it be necessary.
An important factor in selecting any event medical provider is the strength of their clinical governance and leadership. Our management includes professional paramedics who have worked both locally with Ambulance Victoria and internationally. With first-hand experience in front-line paramedical roles, emergency management and senior management, our leadership team has a wide variety of knowledge and skills sets to provide a high level of care at any public or private event.
