The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) is proud to announce additional funding in continuation of our long-standing partnership with Hancock Agriculture.
Through this partnership, Hancock Agriculture will generously provide a $250,000 annual commitment for the next three years to specifically sponsor one of our RFDS aircraft.
Dr. Gina Rinehart AO, along with her businesses and Medical Foundation, have been a significant supporter of the services the RFDS provides across Australia; and is a significant contributor to the funding for fit-out for our RFDS Brisbane Base which will form part of the Aeromedical Precinct at Brisbane Airport.
Chief Executive Officer, RFDS (Queensland Section) Meredith Staib shared how impactful this funding is to assist in covering the immense operational costs required to keep an aircraft online and ready to respond.
“We are very appreciative of the philanthropic commitment shown by Dr. Rinehart through Hancock Agriculture,” Ms. Staib said.
“This level of generosity enables the RFDS to continue to provide the finest care to the furthest corners of Queensland.”
“The Royal Flying Doctor Service is essential for those who live in the bush, and, for the city dwellers who visit,” Dr. Rinehart said.
Hancock Agriculture Chief Executive Officer, the Honourable Adam Giles, officially handed over the cheque to the RFDS on behalf of Dr. Rinehart earlier this week.
“She (Dr. Rinehart) is a natural champion of those in the outback, and appreciates the essential work of those who serve day after day and year after year in our Royal Flying Doctor Service,” Mr. Giles said.
“This $250,000 annual commitment, following the millions of dollars Dr. Rinehart and her companies have already given, will help to keep the Flying Doctor in the sky, helping the outback communities that are the backbone of our country."
We are honoured to receive this additional funding from Hancock Agriculture, and appreciate Dr. Rinehart's continued support for the RFDS.
