Twenty-five years of working alongside the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) (Queensland Section) has seen Ergon Energy Retail staff and customers raise more than $20 million.

The partnership between Ergon Energy Retail and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) (Queensland Section) is one of the longest-running charity and corporate relationships of its type in Australia.
Ergon Energy Retail customers are given the option to opt in to making a regular donation to the RFDS (Queensland Section) via their bill.
RFDS Chief Executive Officer (Queensland Section) Meredith Staib said the partnership with Ergon Energy Retail has become an integral part of annual fundraising.
“Ergon Energy Retail customers and staff have shown time and time again how much they appreciate the work done by the RFDS by donating as part of their regular bill,” Ms. Staib said.
“The generosity of more than a hundred thousand Ergon Energy Retail customers means we’ve been able to help more people across Queensland.
“We are so thankful for the amazing support of Ergon Energy Retail and look forward to continuing our strong relationship for years to come.”

Ergon Energy Retail Executive General Manager Ayesha Razzaq said supporting the RFDS (Queensland Section) remained an important part of the organisation’s drive to give back to regional Queensland communities.
“We know how important the role played by the RFDS (Queensland Section) is across Queensland and have recently shown our continued support by extending our partnership for another three years,” Ms Razzaq said.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our customers who choose to donate through their energy bills.
“Raising over $20 million is a powerful testament to the generosity and community spirit of regional Queensland.
“Ergon Energy Retail customers and staff remain committed to supporting the RFDS (Queensland Section) and our joint goal of improving the health and well-being of Queensland communities.”
Both organisations are proud Queenslanders with bases and centres spread across regional locations, including Townsville, Mackay, Maryborough and Rockhampton.
The Ergon Energy Retail customer donation scheme began in 2000 and to help mark this special milestone, a billboard will be travelling north along the Queensland coast with the names of customers who continue to donate to the RFDS (Queensland Section) displayed proudly.
Celebration morning tea events will be held in five Queensland locations where community members can turn for a complimentary cuppa and some cake.
