Job Description:

We are seeking a driven individual for the role of Supporter Relationship Specialist (Philanthropy). This is an exciting career opportunity to join our award-winning Fundraising & Philanthropy team, on a full-time, permanent basis.

Based at our Brisbane Corporate Office, with the added flexibility to work from home, this position is pivotal for building relationships and securing significant philanthropic support from high-capacity individuals and philanthropic foundations and trusts. You will love connecting donors with the impact of their gifts.

Working within the Philanthropy team, you will identify and research key prospects, cultivate strong relationships with philanthropic funders, action supporter-centric moves management plans including donor solicitations, and maintain accurate donor records.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Build and foster strategic long-term relationships with a portfolio of individual philanthropic supporters, through high-level cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities
  • Cultivate opportunities that have been identified and secure new opportunities for Trust, Foundation and Private/Public Ancillary Fund relationships to grow, in alignment with organisational growth strategy
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the philanthropy sector, providing insights and recommendations to growth opportunities
  • Proactively contribute to the Fundraising Innovation Process and the creative evolution of the RFDS’s fundraising program
  • Collaborate with all Fundraising and Philanthropy relationship managers to review and implement engagement strategies, identify cross-pollination opportunities, leverage resources and ultimately ensure moves management and solicitation plans prioritise donor expectations and overall organisational needs
  • Proactively build Advocate relationships to support development of a major donor pipeline
To be successful in this role you will meet the following criteria:
  • Minimum of certificate in Business, Marketing or Fundraising
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience building and nurturing philanthropic donor relationships
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish, build and nurture internal and external relationships
  • High level of attention to detail with ability manage multiple tasks and priorities while meeting strict deadlines
  • Excellent written communication skills with ability to craft effective donor communications, proposals, and acquittals
  • Experience working with CRM systems
  • Hold, or be willing to hold, an MFIA with the Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA).
