Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) in a pivotal, Leadership role as we move towards a significant anniversary with exciting developments for the Brisbane base.
This role reports to the State Manager – Base Support Services, and is responsible for the efficient functioning of Brisbane Base, including coordination of administrative, financial, operational activities and resources. This role supports the leadership of the base to ensure the delivery of timely and efficient administration support, reporting and financial processing. You will work very closely with our highly respected aviation, engineering and flight nurse teams and see first hand our new in house Operations Control Centre.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the Administrative team to ensure delivery of quality administration support
- Manage human resource activities for administrative employees
- Foster a safe and encouraging environment for innovation, and provide opportunities for new ideas that improve service delivery
- Role model to others what it means to be an organisational ambassador who reflects the values, promise and brand of the organisation to build a positive Base culture
- As part of the base leadership team, actively work across the whole team to create a cohesive culture of connectedness and employee engagement aligned with RFDS values
- Contribute to supporting Base compliance with Workplace Health and Safety
- Manage security and associated protocols for Base buildings and hangar
- Ensure Disaster Management Plan and Business Continuity Plan is maintained and activated as required
- Review and recommend state-wide process improvements and efficiencies relating to administrative functions without compromising service delivery
- Contribute to the development of the base annual budget process and ensure the budget is managed effectively.
- 5 – 7 years relevant experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated team leadership experience with the ability to coach and mentor staff
- Strong ability to influence and encourage a collaborative, positive team environment
- Demonstrated project management experience in process improvement efficiencies
- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills of self and others
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
- Ability to work across and influence at all levels including Executive and Senior Management.
