Description
The Line Maintenance Coordinator is a “hands-on” opportunity for a B2 or full B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) to be responsible for supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) 24/7 operation by ensuring fleet AOG and deferred defects are rectified in a timely manner for employment location. Additionally, assist with base associated aircraft scheduled maintenance during peak periods. This role is essential to RFDS Queensland meeting expected “on time performance” (OTP) with minimal impact to aircraft shift availability due to technical defects. This will help minimise Direct Maintenance Costs (DMCs) and ensure safe, compliant operational performance of the RFDS Fleet in service of the people of Queensland.
The Role
- Brisbane based with some travel to assist at other RFDS bases on occasion
- Permanent Full time
- Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

You will work closely with Operations Control Centre, Maintenance Watch Engineer, Flight Operations team and Senior Base Engineer to:
- Plan and conduct troubleshooting and rectification of any line defects arising daily in the course of flight operations for all aircraft at base and those transiting on tasking
- Conduct weekly scheduled aircraft line maintenance checks in a timely manner and without impact to aircraft network availability
- Availability for AOG call out after hours on a rotation system with other base engineers
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
- Minimum 5 years aircraft maintenance experience
- Minimum 2 years B200/B300 King Air experience
- Proven experience with avionics packages specific to RFDS QLD aircraft types (Rockwell Collins Proline 21 and Proline Fusion)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Proven attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Ability to foster and maintain harmonious working relationships within the engineering team and across other cohorts
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to pick up new computer applications
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment in relation to Aircraft Maintenance
- Maintenance control experience
- Supply chain management experience
- CASA PT66 B2 / B1 License on RFDS QLD aircraft types
