Description
Due to exciting growth, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) is seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to join the Digital and Technology (D&T) team as a Systems Administrator.
This position is responsible for the coordination of day-to-day activities within the D&T Operations team, ensuring that key systems are operating as they should. The role will be responsible for interfacing with escalations from the Service Desk including the maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and networking equipment. As part of the Digital Transformation program, this unique opportunity will support RFDS's future growth and innovation.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate operations including providing a triage function for escalated tickets
- Provide escalation and advice for service delivery employees
- Provide day-to-day Operations housekeeping and maintenance activities
- Ensure all systems are patched to appropriate security levels
- Coordinate with vendors
- Ensure compliance with best practice ICT security and ITIL processes
- Maintain, monitor and look for improvements in the RFDS IT environments
This role is a permanent, full-time role based in Dubbo, NSW.
The RFDS (Queensland Section) and RFDS (South Eastern Section) collaborate to offer shared Digital and Technology (D&T) support and maintenance services. A unified team from both sections work together in a single Shared Service to provide top-notch services to both organisations by utilising our combined expertise.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation of Systems Administration skills, with experience and interest in Hyper-V, VMWare or Citrix being highly desirable. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate-
- 5+ years of experience in ICT operations and/or support functions.
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware and software solutions and how it is applied to business processes
- Extensive experience in Windows server environments and supporting technologies
- Exposure to Networking (switching, wireless)
- Familiarity with rollouts, deployments, and exposure to scripting (Powershell)
- Exposure to Cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience with Active Directory, MS Exchange Server/Exchange Online, Anti-virus and Office 365
- Awareness of maintaining a monitoring environment
- Incident Management experience

Dubbo RFDS Base
Dubbo Base, established in 1999, offers a range of health services as well as being a top tourism attraction in the area. Dubbo is home to The Outback Oral Health and Treatment (TOOTH) program, serving the remote communities of Collarenebri, Bourke, Lightning Ridge and Goodooga.
Dubbo conducts inter-hospital transfers, and coordination of flights for the Rural Aerial Health Service (RAHS), as well as emergency retrievals.

The successful applicant will need to undertake a police check, hold an ASIC and undertake initial and random drug and alcohol testing. Intrastate travel, inclusive of overnight stays is also a requirement of this role. There may be a requirement for you to operate outside of normal business hours in exceptional circumstances such as responding to a network outage.
