The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) are leaders in providing access to aeromedical and primary health care services to people in remote, rural, and regional locations. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) in a pivotal, new role! Supporting, and leading our Base Support Services, in a permanent, full-time capacity, and located at any RFDS (Queensland Section) Base.

Reporting to the General Manager of Finance & Corporate Services, this role is responsible for the efficient functioning of all RFDS (Queensland Section) base administration and facilities through the oversight of administrative, financial, operational activities and resources as well as facilities and contracts.

This role supports the leadership of the Base Support Managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality administration support, accurate and timely reporting and processing of financial and non-financial information as well as supporting RFDS business objectives through reporting to relevant internal and external providers.

Duties will include:

  • Lead the Base Support Management team to ensure delivery of quality administration, facilities support and patient outcomes
  • Lead and foster a high performing culture by translating the strategy and vision of RFDS
  • Support community engagement, fundraising & Philanthropy activities, marketing, and media events at Queensland Bases.
  • Facilitate two-way communication between RFDS state-wide functions and base operations
  • Lead the development and implementation of Base Administration strategic and operational plans
  • Collate, interpret, analyse data to prepare reports and assist executive leadership in the preparation of reports and presentations as required
  • Support Base compliance with Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures and manuals including monthly reports and inductions ensuring a uniform approach at each base
  • Contribute to the development of the annual budget process and ensure the budget is managed effectively
Who are we looking for?

You would describe yourself as a passionate and solution-focused individual and meet the following criteria:
  • Minimum of University Degree in Business, Management, or a related field
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, administrative services, financial, operational activities and driving efficiencies, facilities and contracts management
  • Team leadership experience with the ability to coach and mentor staff
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications, including but not limited to, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work across and influence at all levels including Executive and Senior Management
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential, restricted, and sensitive information
