Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) is searching for an Infrastructure Engineer to ensure the infrastructure environment's availability, stability, performance, and security. This role covers both on-premises and cloud infrastructure services and will work collaboratively with other Digital and Technology (D&T) teams to provide timely support and delivery.

You will be an integral contributor to the D&T strategy in this newly created role. You will work collaboratively to create the building blocks for RFDS infrastructure and systems while also participating in valuable collaborations across RFDS national sections. The Infrastructure Engineer will;

  • Contribute to the design, architecture, and operations roadmap of RFDS systems, networks, and infrastructure
  • Provide consultative advice to stakeholders
  • Plan and manage system changes and upgrades
  • Develop communication and change management plans
  • Manage assigned ICT problems and develop resolution strategies
  • Identify ICT-related risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Support and mentor team members
  • Explore new ideas, support innovation and implement changes that improve service delivery

This is a maximum-term, full-time role based in Brisbane. The initial contract will run for 2 years and may grow into a permanent role. The RFDS D&T Team offers hybrid working arrangements with a mixture of home and office work.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a skilled team player with an ambitious mindset to enhance our technical capabilities. You will have qualifications in Information Technology, Microsoft MCSE certification(s) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification and you will demonstrate-
  • Exceptional technical knowledge of hardware and software solutions
  • Strong industry experience in:
- Cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Networking and firewall technologies
- Hyper-V or vSphere virtualisation including underlying hardware
- Server administration and management
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Backup technology, Antivirus and security software and MDM platforms strongly preferred
  • Experience with rollouts, deployments and scripting
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault/problem resolution skills
  • Confident and engaging communication skills

The RFDS (Queensland Section) has nine bases situated in Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Charleville, Mount Isa, Longreach, and Roma.
