Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) is looking for skilled, passionate and committed Technical Services Engineer (TSE) to support the Airworthiness team and perform functions related to the maintenance control of the RFDS (Queensland Section) fleet.
This service and support role will ensure all maintenance due as determined by schedule or continuous improvement is carried out in organisational timelines and with operational safety assured.
The Technical Services Engineer (Maintenance Support) is a Permanent, Full-Time role based in Brisbane. The pattern of work is a 5-day work week, with occasional weekend on call as required to cover Maintenance Watch Engineer absences in the Operations Control Centre.
Key responsibilities
Key TSE responsibilities include:
- Conduct daily/weekly assigned tasks as directed by Airworthiness Manager
- Ensure currency and relevance of technical publications and manuals
- Review of NAA websites for Airworthiness Directives issued
- Update Maintenance Management System and maintenance system software workflows
- Assist Technical Records Officers on accurate recording of maintenance records, aircraft logbooks, Aircraft Flight Manuals, and aircraft configuration data
- Promote reduction of reoccurring defects
- Introduce Preventative Maintenance initiatives
- Facilitate introduction of new aircraft equipment
- Facilitate the introduction of aircraft/engine modification programs
- Develop maintenance instructions for use by the RFDSQ Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Organisation
- Provide support to the Operations Control Centre and perform Maintenance Watch Engineer duties when required
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
- Experience on aircraft types operated by the Section (Beechcraft King Air models), or types of similar complexity
- Have experience working for a CAMO/Airworthiness team in a technical services role
- Understanding of aviation regulatory compliance
- Minimum 5 years aircraft maintenance experience
- Aviation Leadership experience
- Supply chain inventory familiarity
- Proven attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Proven ability to work autonomously and within a team to establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Availability to be on call afterhours/ weekends for fleet defect rectification QLD wide
- Availability for travel to support RFDS operations QLD wide
- Value teamwork, collaborative within a flexible working environment
- Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) Licence or related Aircraft Maintenance/Airworthiness Control discipline
- QLD Drivers Licence
