Description
As part of the growth at the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section), we are seeking a talented Business Development Manager to develop Aviation Training Services.
As a Business Development Manager you will have responsibility for achieving revenue targets and implementing growth strategies for products and services provided for and on behalf of the RFDS. Including the management of the brand new RFDS Simulator and Training Centre in Bundaberg.
You will identify prospects, convert them to profitable partners and maintain robust relationships to ensure the successful delivery of sales initiatives, partner growth and retail strategies.
This is a Permanent, full-time opportunity located at our Brisbane Base, with the added flexibility to work from home and the possibility to visit Bundaberg and our other bases.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of the RFDS Simulator and Training Centre, including leading a smooth and efficient training environment
- Seek and secure new business opportunities for the RFDSQ Simulator and Training Centre
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand, develop and manage training needs, programs and objectives
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of programs and identify opportunities for new training offerings based on market trends and client feedback
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators related to business development and training centre operations
- Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
- Generate reports and provide insights to the leadership teams, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement, while proactively suggesting strategies to enhance revenue growth and operational efficiency
You will have proven aviation management experience, as well as project and development experience. You will be confident in your relationship-building skills, and proactive with business and process improvements.
You will demonstrate:
- Formal qualification in Business Management, Project Management, or Commerce or a related field
- Knowledge of, and experience in, financial planning and management (including budget preparation and management)
- A thorough understanding of sales and marketing principles
- A proven track record of successfully securing and implementing and managing growth strategies to increase sales generation through client initiatives
- Exemplary interpersonal and client management capabilities
- Experience in developing and implementing organisational strategies to enhance operational performance
- High-level communications skills, with demonstrated capability to effectively interact with executive leaders across the organisation and external stakeholders
- Superior level of written communication including correspondence, report writing and presentation drafting
- Good understanding of research methods and data analysis techniques
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills; high level of initiative and problem-solving
