Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) is seeking a highly organised and inquisitive People and Culture Officer to join the team. In this role, you will support the efficient operation of the People & Culture by coordinating and delivering a range of People services. This includes system administration, employment contract management, records maintenance, general HR administration and supporting a team of Business Partners and Advisors. This role will see you;
- Produce employment contracts, organisational charts, reports, and other workforce-related documentation
- Coordinate the employment changes and offboarding processes for employees
- Update and maintain HR-related systems and files
- Assist with the interpretation of legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements
- Assist with administrative duties, project work and implementation of new initiatives
- Monitor and respond to queries in an appropriate and timely manner
Who are we looking for?
You will describe yourself as a collaborative individual with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and providing exceptional customer service. Your work will focus on supporting our people with a friendly and understanding attitude. In addition to your HR knowledge and willingness to learn, you will bring to the position:
- Minimum of Diploma in Business Management or HR-related field
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite programs including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and OneNote
- Proven experience or knowledge in a generalist Human Resources function
- Ability to interpret organisational policies, procedures, industrial agreements, and relevant legislation
- Experience using an HRIS
- Ability to work productively while managing multiple projects and navigating competing priorities to meet allocated deadlines
- Accuracy and attention to detail in the production of written content or documentation

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. In Queensland, the RFDS employs approximately, 500 people ranging from pilots, doctors, nurses, engineers, allied health professionals, and a variety of administration and support services roles. The Corporate Office is located at the Brisbane International Airport, and RFDS operates from nine operational bases located in Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Charleville, Mount Isa, Longreach and Roma.
The RFDS also delivers a broad range of essential healthcare services to rural and remote communities, as well as emergency retrieval services.
