Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) is looking for an experienced, skilled, and committed Senior Base Engineer to lead the Brisbane base engineering maintenance team.
This leadership role will ensure all maintenance due as determined by schedule or continuous improvement is carried out in organisational timelines and with operational safety assured. They will provide expert advice on the planning, programming, and management of all aircraft maintenance to maximise availability, minimise Direct Maintenance Costs (DMCs) and ensure safe, compliant operational performance of the RFDS Fleet.
The Senior Base Engineer is a Permanent Full-Time role based in Brisbane with travel to the other bases across QLD.
Key responsibilities
Key Senior Base Engineer responsibilities include:
- Work with RFDS Operations Control Center to ensure all required Scheduled, AOG and Component maintenance work is carried out and completed in accordance with CASR regulations
- Provide leadership to the team, promoting multidisciplinary teamwork and supporting a commitment to continuous improvement and compliance and healthy team culture
- Ensure all required base maintenance including defect rectification is carried out in accordance with Maintenance Organisation Exposition, Maintenance Control Manual and other ICA
- Drive operational best practice while adopting systems that increase safety and operational availability, and decrease operational costs
- Update MMS and maintenance system software workflows
- Promote reduction of reoccurring defects
- Introduce Preventative Maintenance initiatives
- Facilitate Pilot Maintenance Authority training and assessments
- Facilitate introduction of new aircraft equipment
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
- Experience on aircraft types operated by the Section (Beechcraft King Air models)
- Understanding of aviation regulatory compliance
- 5 years aircraft maintenance experience
- Aviation Leadership experience
- Supply chain management experience
- Proven attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Proven ability to work autonomously and within a team to establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Availability for call out after hours/ weekends for fleet defect rectification QLD wide
- Availability for travel to support RFDS operations QLD wide
- Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) Licence
- QLD Drivers Licence
