Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) is looking for capable, intelligent, and confident Registered Nurses with Midwifery to join our team to provide invaluable service to regional and remote patients.
You have strong values around care, service and personal development and have a great ability to build trust-based relationships with those around you. You also have advanced people and communication skills, maturity, a sense of humour, extraordinary patience, and a deep-seated need to serve people.
You would describe yourself as honest, smart, fun, reliable, consistent, and hardworking. You are tech-savvy and confident in clinical documentation. In addition, you will meet the following specific criteria;
- Registration with AHPRA to practise Nursing and Midwifery
- 5 years post-graduate experience (full-time equivalent) (FTE).
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a critical care environment (24-hour in-department medical coverage/ tertiary hospital, within the last 7 years)
- Ability to spend considerable time working in the confined spaces of a small aircraft
Desirable Skills (Can be obtained after starting employment)
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS)
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal resuscitation certification

We have a maximum term, full-time position joining us for an initial 2-year contract. Full-time Flight Nurses work 15 shifts per 28-day roster period. We are open to discussing alternate rostering arrangements so please feel free to get in touch with our team for further discussion.

Successful candidates will be subject to a police check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. You will also be required to complete the RFDS credentialing process.
RFDS (Queensland Section) works with vulnerable patients in remote parts of Queensland and provides an essential service to many regional and remote communities. To ensure the health and safety of our staff, our patients and these communities, as well as to manage the risks involved in service delivery and COVID-19 transmission in these communities and our workplaces, our staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are a successful candidate the requirement to be vaccinated against COVID-19, including maintaining any recommended booster requirements, will be a term of your employment, as will the requirement to provide proof of vaccination.
