Description

As the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) heads towards 100 years of operation, we have growth and innovation at our forefront. In order to discover, optimise and enable digital solutions across multiple RFDS business units and systems, we are seeking a Data and Systems Analyst. In this new role, the Data and Systems Analyst will be an integral part of the Data, Integration & Analytics team by providing direct support to passionate and invested operational staff.

This role will require you to use your natural ability to adapt, your keen sense of learning, and your ability to influence others' analytical questioning. In addition, you will;

  • Collect, understand and interpret organisational requirements and recommend solutions
  • Produce detailed designs
  • Specify and develop test scenarios
  • Develop, via programming, commands for the translation of data
  • Configure software
  • Assess the integrity of data from multiple sources
  • Provide advice on the transformation of data/information
  • Use database management system software and tools, to investigate problems and collect performance statistics and create reports
  • Carry out routine configuration/installation and reconfiguration
  • Prioritise and diagnose incidents according to agreed procedures

The Data and Systems Analyst is a full-time, maximum term (12 months) position based in Brisbane. Digital & Technology offers hybrid working arrangements with a mixture of home and office work, as well as regular team days.

Who are we looking for?

In addition to your formal qualifications in Information Technology, Data Analysis or a similar field you will demonstrate a collaborative style that is people-centred and display an openness to be agile with changing business needs. You will also demonstrate-
  • Ability to solve problems and interpret various data structures
  • Experience with at least one of the following:
  • developing Python and Pandas analysis routines, or
  • developing solutions in C# or Python, or
  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI & Power-Apps) or
  • Developing data models and visualisations for consumption by end users, or
  • Database and integration design and configuration (including the use of REST APIs to integrate systems).
  • Transferable skills in similar data and integration technologies will be considered.
  • Exceptional data analytic capability
  • High level of communication skills both written and verbal
  • Release management (including Test & Change management)
  • Experience in data-driven business improvement initiatives and systems
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies and skills as required

There will be a requirement to intermittently travel in QLD and NSW for this role. Work out of hours may be required to respond to unscheduled outages and major incidents affecting critical systems.

RFDS (Queensland Section) works with vulnerable patients in remote parts of Queensland and provides an essential service to many regional and remote communities. To ensure the health and safety of our staff, our patients, and these communities, as well as to manage the risks involved in service delivery and COVID-19 transmission in these communities and our workplaces, our staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are a successful candidate the requirement to be vaccinated against COVID-19, including maintaining any recommended booster requirements, will be a term of your employment, as will the requirement to provide proof of vaccination.
