Cairn’s headspace is seeking a bubbly and friendly Medical Receptionist to join us at our busy mental health centre. You will provide caring customer service to headspace clients, and families and support our Mental Health Team and Private Practitioners. You will be a confident person who is looking to learn new skills and you will enjoy working in a team environment. You will be able to think quickly on your feet while you support headspace clients and our team with;
- Data entry of confidential client information
- Medicare billing (it’s ok if you need support to learn this skill, we will train you!)
- Reporting and correspondence
- Maintaining office systems
- Ensuring all consulting rooms are in order and resources are stocked
- Managing the reception desk
headspace Cairns (under the direction of the Royal Flying Doctors Service, Queensland Section) has been making a difference in the lives of young Australians since 2006. The headspace Cairns centre is a welcoming, safe place for young people aged 12 to 25 that offers support, information, access to resources, and support for mental health, physical/sexual health, drug and alcohol addiction, employment and education.
This new opportunity is a full-time role on a maximum-term contract until June 2023 with the HIGH possibility of an extension. You will work office hours of 8:30 am- 5:00 pm and Thursday you will work 11:00- 7:30 pm.
To be considered for this role it is essential you meet the criteria below:
- Demonstrated computer experience, including the ability to use Office applications
- Ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and solve problems
- Demonstrated experience in customer service and/or reception/phone skills
- Confidence in managing busy or challenging situations
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated ability or strong desire to work with young people
- A knowledge of the mental health issues facing youth, or the ability to develop it
