The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) is looking for an Office Manager known internally as a Base Support Manager (BSM) for the RFDS Brisbane Base. This role is s a permanent, full-time opportunity located at the Brisbane Domestic Airport.

By supporting the leadership of the base, the BSM ensures timely and efficient administration support, accurate and timely reporting of financial and non-financial information and reporting to relevant external and internal stakeholders to support RFDS business objectives.
You will be a leader that is adaptable, highly organised and motivating. You will be innovative and want to develop your role and your team’s function. Naturally, you will;

  • Lead the administration team
  • As part of the base leadership team, lead a cohesive culture of connectedness and employee engagement aligned with RFDS values
  • Coordinate and deliver effective base processes i.e.- state-wide fleet management, uniforms, resources, security, and disaster measures
  • Manage the facility including maintenance, contractors, and service requests
  • Collaborate on projects and strategic initiatives
  • Manage the preparation and presentation of reports (as required)
  • Contribute to the annual base budget process

About the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section)

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. In Queensland, the RFDS employs 450-500 people with positions ranging from pilots, doctors, nurses, engineers, allied health professionals, and a variety of administration and support services roles.

The RFDS delivers a broad range of essential healthcare services to rural and remote communities, as well as emergency retrieval services. Brisbane Base is exclusively an emergency aeromedical base, providing retrieval and inter-hospital transfers. The terminal facilitates the receipt of patients transported to Brisbane by the RFDS, as well as the receipt of patients transported by other aeromedical providers such as Queensland and NSW Ambulance Services. Clinical coordination is provided by Queensland Health-employed doctors and aircraft tasking is by Retrieval Services Queensland.
