Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) are actively seeking an experienced Senior Base Pilot in a permanent full-time capacity based in Townsville.
The Senior Base Pilot (SBP) is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of aviation services at Townsville Base, ensuring all activity meets quality, safety, contractual and financial requirements.
The role is part of the Base Leadership Team and provides direction to pilots and coordinates the effective and efficient utilisation of aircraft and employee resources allocated in Townsville.
The Senior Base Pilot works with the Head of Flying Operations to develop and implement operational plans and has key accountability in ensuring Aviation compliance in accordance with CASA regulations and RFDS (Queensland Section) policies and procedures.
Who are we looking for?
- Hold a current Australian ATPL / CPL and class 1 medical
- Minimum
- 3000 hours flying time in total
- 2000 hours as Pilot in Command
- 2000 multi-engine command
- 500 hours turbine
- 200 hours night command
- Provide Leadership, support and guidance to Pilots
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Manage aviation related ground-based facilities in consultation with the HOFO
- Undertake operational shifts in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of an RFDSQ Pilot
