Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) is looking for an experienced, skilled, and committed Line Maintenance Manager to lead line engineering maintenance teams across Queensland.

This leadership role will ensure all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is carried out within organisational timelines and with operational safety assured. They will provide expert advice on the planning, programming, and management of all aircraft maintenance to maximise operator aircraft availability, minimise Direct Maintenance Costs (DMCs) and ensure safe, compliant operational performance of the RFDS Fleet.

The Line Maintenance Manager is a Permanent Full-Time role based in Cairns with travel to the other bases across QLD.

Key responsibilities

Key Line Maintenance Manger responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all required Scheduled, AOG and Component maintenance work is carried out and completed in accordance with CASR regulations
  • Provide leadership to the team, promoting multidisciplinary teamwork and supporting a commitment to continuous improvement and compliance
  • Ensure all required line maintenance including line defect rectification is carried out in accordance with Maintenance Organisation Exposition and Operators requirements
  • Drive operational best practice while adopting systems that increase safety and operational availability, and decrease operational costs
  • Be active part of management team and future MRO opportunities
  • Effective communicator across multiple disciplines organisation wide
  • Be an effective team player
Who we are looking for?

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
  • Experience on aircraft types or similar operated by RFDS QLD
  • Understanding of aviation regulatory compliance
  • 10 years aircraft maintenance experience
  • Aviation Leadership experience
  • Proven attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and within a team to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Availability for call out after hours/ weekends for fleet defect rectification QLD wide
  • Requirement for travel to support RFDS operations QLD wide
Qualifications/Registrations (Essential)
  • Either B1 or B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) Licence
  • Ability to Hold and retain CASA Form 4 approval
  • QLD Drivers Licence
