Are you a strong Administrator looking to provide support for a vital service provider?

This role is for you!

The Far North Mental Health and Wellbeing Service are looking for an Administration Officer to join the team. You will support the day-to-day operations of the Mental Health team through effective and efficient administrative support. This role is a maximum-term (12-month), full-time opportunity at the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Cairns Base.

Duties will include;

  • Processing incoming client referrals as per procedure and notifying relevant clinicians
  • Coordinating corporate travel and accommodation bookings including flights and duty-related travel
  • Scheduling and coordinating all team meetings including agendas and minute taking
  • Coordinating community training (Mental Health First Aid)
  • Assisting in event management for the Far North Team (as needed)
  • Monitoring the Far North Mental Health and Wellbeing inbox and answering incoming enquiries
  • Undertaking administration support for the wider Mental Health Team

Who we are looking for?
You will have a strong administration background, possess exceptional multitasking skills, be team-centric and have methodical work practise. You will also possess:
  • Certificate III / IV in Administration (desirable)
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to establish priorities and manage workloads within deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and achieve goals
  • High attention to detail
  • The ability to periodically travel in the Far North to assist the Far North team with administration at events and workshops

About us:

The RFDS (Queensland Section) has the largest mental health service of the RFDS sections across Australia. The RFDS (Queensland Section) mental health service is made up of several specialised teams, spanning across the state providing psychological therapies for people living in difficult-to-access parts of rural and remote Queensland.

Comprising of mental health nurses, social workers and psychologists, our Far North team deliver services in a variety of ways to meet the needs of each specific community, which is essential for improving individual outcomes. The Far North Team deliver services such as individual and group sessions, couple sessions, mental health-focused workshops, outreach services and supporting community events.
