Description

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) – Component - Cairns is responsible for supporting the 24/7 operation of the RFDS (Queensland Section) through the repair and overhaul of aircraft specific components in a timely manner. This role is essential to RFDS (Queensland Section) meeting its expected on time performance with minimal impact to aircraft shift availability due to technical defects. The AME - Component - Cairns helps ensure safe, compliant operational performance of the RFDS Fleet in service of the people of QLD.

Key responsibilities

Your key responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Component repair and overhaul as per RFDS QLD component approvals.
  • Development of new component capability associated with RFDS QLD fleet.
  • Support Line Maintenance Manager and associated maintenance network.
  • Support base stores and process.
  • Ensure compliant management, storage and usage of tooling and GSE.
  • Compliance with all Occupational, Health, Safety & Welfare policies and procedures.
Who we are looking for?

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
  • Trade Certificate or equivalent specialising in Component repair
  • Proven attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Holder of drivers license
  • knowledge of the regulatory environment in relation to aircraft maintenance
  • Ability to navigate and follow maintenance manuals accurately
Desirable skills and experience
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) approvals
  • Experience on RFDS Queensland Section aircraft types
  • Aircraft component repair experience
