Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) are leaders in providing access to aeromedical and primary health care services to people in remote, rural, and regional locations. In our journey towards our 100th year of providing services, we have planned for growth and sustainability while being firmly focused on improving the health of people in Queensland.
In our journey forward we have developed new and exciting partnerships in Corporate Affairs and Marketing aimed at growing engagement from colleagues, partners, and the community. With a fresh vision and strategy, a newly formed Marketing Team is looking for a creative advisor to be the champion of our content. The role of Social Media Specialist is focused on content that grows and engages people through a wide range of digital platforms focussing on internal and external audiences.
The Social Media Specialist is a full-time position based in Queensland.
The Social Media Specialist will;
- Develop social media campaigns with a focus on growth, engagement, and brand building
- Be the audience advocate, know what they want and how to engage with them to achieve the organisations objectives
- Develop and co-ordinate content for RFDS social media channels in line with the key messaging strategy
- Social media platform management and monitoring for cross-promotional opportunities and to gauge potential reputational risk
- Actively seek opportunities to add value to existing media and content strategies
- Collaborate with leaders to brainstorm and execute on strategies, campaigns, and events
- Monitor the performance of social media channels and continually strive to achieve greater
- Create monthly reports on key metrics and performance
- Assist the Commercial and Corporate Affairs team with other projects when required
Who we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Media, Marketing, Journalism, Communication, or a closely related field
- Strong communication and stakeholder and customer engagement skills
- Extensive experience in content writing
- Demonstrated experience in social media and web content creation, video editing, media, and crisis management, and the coordination of external providers
- Demonstrated experience in successful collaborations on projects with multiple stakeholders
- Previous experience in a not-for-profit/human services environment (Desirable)
- Experience in content management systems e.g., SharePoint, CRM database, and campaign monitoring software utilisation (Desirable)

RFDS (Queensland Section) works with vulnerable patients in remote parts of Queensland and provides an essential service to many regional and remote communities. To ensure the health and safety of our staff, our patients, and these communities, as well as to manage the risks involved in service delivery and COVID-19 transmission in these communities and our workplaces, our staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are the successful candidate the requirement to be vaccinated against COVID-19, including maintaining any recommended booster requirements, will be a term of your employment, as will the requirement to provide proof of vaccination.
Successful candidates will be subject to a Police Check and candidates are required to hold a current, unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence. There may be a requirement to undertake intrastate travel with overnight stays.
