Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) in Queensland are leaders in providing access to aeromedical and primary health care services to people in remote, rural, and regional locations. As we head toward our 100th year of providing services, we are focused on providing safe, innovative clinical care and improving the patient experience.
One of the strategic initiatives moving RFDS into the future is the Digital Transformation Program. In our journey forward, we have implemented a rapid growth strategy with a particular emphasis on the maintenance, configuration, and streamlining of computer systems, servers, and networking equipment. To deliver our goal, we are growing our team with the addition of a System Administrator.
The System Administrator is a full-time position on a maximum term contract for 12 months and is based in Brisbane.
While the initial contract is 12 months (with the possibility of extension), there are additional opportunities to provide project support to the wider team allowing growth and upskilling opportunities.
Who we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
- Microsoft MCSA certification(s), or proven equivalent experience
- Basic networking certifications, or proven equivalent experience
- Extensive experience in ICT operations and/or support functions
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware and software solutions
- Extensive experience in Windows server environments and supporting technologies
- Exposure to Cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience with virtualisation, such as Hyper-V, VMWare or equivalent
- Experience with Active Directory, MS Exchange Server/Exchange Online, Anti-virus and Office 365
- Experience with rollouts, deployments, and exposure to scripting (Powershell)
- Incident Management experience

RFDS (Queensland Section) works with vulnerable patients in remote parts of Queensland and provides an essential service to many regional and remote communities. To ensure the health and safety of our staff, our patients, and these communities, as well as to manage the risks involved in service delivery and COVID-19 transmission in these communities and our workplaces, our staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are the successful candidate the requirement to be vaccinated against COVID-19, including maintaining any recommended booster requirements, will be a term of your employment, as will the requirement to provide proof of vaccination.
Successful candidates will be subject to a Police Check and Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing. Candidates are required to hold a current, unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence and obtain an ASIC Card. There also may be a requirement to undertake infrequent intrastate travel with overnight stays.
