Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) in Queensland are leaders in providing access to aeromedical and primary health care services to people in remote, rural, and regional locations. As we head toward our 100th year of providing services, we are focused on providing safe, innovative clinical care and improving the patient experience.
One of the strategic initiatives moving RFDS into the future is the Digital Transformation Program. The RFDS is looking to streamline and consolidate systems and harness new technology including an enterprise data platform to consolidate disparate databases and improve reporting analytics utilising Azure and MS solutions. To achieve our goal, we need to grow our team and we are looking for a Business Data Analyst.
The Business Data Analyst will;
- Interpret and document client data requirements
- Design data and integration solutions
- Develop test scenarios
- Report on the outcome of testing and identify potential improvements
- Optimise data performance and forecast resource needs
- Document and maintain application support processes and ensure all requests for support are managed in a timely fashion
- Implement changes based on requests for change and identified needs
The Business Data Analyst is a full-time position on a maximum term contract for a 12-month period (with the possibility of extension) based in Brisbane.
Who we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a data analyst role
- High level of communication skills both written and verbal
- Exceptional capability in data analysis
- Demonstrated experience in Database and integration design and configuration
- Experience with Open Integration protocols including design/definition and development of SAAS, REST API’s on prem, Azure and other solutions would be highly desireable
- Application configuration and support (including scripting knowledge in JSON, JavaScript, SQL, etc.)
- Programming experience in C# and Python or similar
- Release management (including Test & Change management)
Qualifications/Registrations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience
- ITIL Foundation Certification

RFDS (Queensland Section) works with vulnerable patients in remote parts of Queensland and provides an essential service to many regional and remote communities. To ensure the health and safety of our staff, our patients, and these communities, as well as to manage the risks involved in service delivery and COVID-19 transmission in these communities and our workplaces, our staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are the successful candidate the requirement to be vaccinated against COVID-19, including maintaining any recommended booster requirements, will be a term of your employment, as will the requirement to provide proof of vaccination.
Successful candidates will be subject to a Police Check and Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing. Candidates are required to hold a current, unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence and obtain an ASIC Card. There also may be a requirement to undertake intrastate travel with overnight stays.
