Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) are leaders in improving the health of people in remote, rural and regional Queensland. As we head toward our 100th year of providing services, we are focused on providing safe, high-quality clinical care.
As an exciting new opportunity, we are currently seeking a Medical Training Lead- Aeromedical to join the Medical Services Team in Brisbane in a permanent, part-time role (0.5 FTE).
The Medical Training Lead – Aeromedical develops, maintains, facilitates, and evaluates education and training programs for Aeromedical Doctors to ensure they have the right skills and competencies necessary to meet strategic and operational objectives.
When performing clinical shifts, the Medical Officer will provide evidence-based, best practice critical care in primary scene response and inter-facility transfers throughout Queensland.
Training Lead- Key Responsibilities-
- Maintain critical care and aeromedical skills to a high level
- Demonstrate clinical leadership through the development and delivery of a contemporary medical training program
- Ensure learners are appropriately assessed to ensure the objectives of the training program are met
- Training programs are designed in a contemporary manner, utilising appropriate pedagogy, methodologies, and information technologies to increase knowledge transfer
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate delivery of orientation program for aeromedical doctors
- Develop and implement a program that will result in annual or regular competency assessments for aeromedical doctors
- Develop and implement training tools to measure the success of training programs (learning outcomes and learner experience)
- Identify training opportunities for medical staff as an outcome of regular case reviews and incident learnings
Who we are looking for?
A Medical Officer to lead Medical Training and to work in Aeromedical Retrieval.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Fellowship with- RACGP, ACRRM, CICM, ANZCA or ACEM
- Ability to meet Medical Officer– Aeromedical credentialing requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary Medical practice in the aeromedical environment
- Demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and implementing education programs aligned to organisational objectives
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary educational strategies, tools, and approaches
- Demonstrated experience in the facilitation of both group and individual learning
- Demonstrated experience in conducting competency assessments
- Engaging presentation and strong interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to resolve conflict situations
- Well-developed computer skills particularly Office 365 (including SharePoint, OneDrive for Business)
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Queensland to deliver education
