Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) is looking for a Base Support Manager for our Brisbane RFDS Base. This role is s a permanent, full time opportunity located at the Brisbane Domestic Airport.

Brisbane RFDS Base is exclusively an emergency aeromedical base, providing retrieval and inter-hospital transfers. Brisbane Base facilitates receipt of patients transported to Brisbane by the RFDS, as well as receipt of patients transported by other aeromedical providers such as Queensland Ambulance Services.

Job Description

The Base Support Manager (BSM) is responsible for the efficient functioning of Brisbane Base through the coordination of administrative, financial, operational activities and resources.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the Administration team
  • Support the base leadership team in their delivery of patient outcomes
  • As part of the base leadership team, lead a cohesive culture of connectedness and employee engagement aligned with RFDS values
  • Coordinate and deliver effective base processes i.e.- fleet, uniforms, resources and assets, security, and disaster measures
  • Collaborate on projects and strategic initiatives
  • Manage the preparation and prestation of reporting as required
  • Contribute to the annual base budget process

  • Extensive experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated change management experience
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience and a high attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills of self and others
  • Experience with adapting to emerging technologies
  • Advanced multi-systems experience
  • Ability to work across and influence at all levels including Executive and Senior Management
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential, restricted, and sensitive information
