Description

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Parts and Logistics Officer is responsible for supporting the Royal Flying Doctors Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) by ensuring all parts, consumables, tooling and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) are at location across QLD.

This role is essential to RFDS Queensland Section meeting expected on time performance with minimal impact to aircraft availability due to technical defects. The Parts and Logistics Officer helps minimise direct maintenance costs and ensures safe, compliant operational performance of the RFDS Fleet in service of the people of QLD.

Key responsibilities
Your key responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager or Maintenance Manager purchase aeronautical products and consumables
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager in relation to the receipt, repair and control of aircraft spares
  • Raise, track and monitor open requisitions and purchase orders
  • Coordinate and manage receiving, unloading and dispatching of goods
  • Maintain RFDS GSE register and manage inventory system
  • Liaise with base Engineers and subcontractors on tooling details and calibration reports
  • Compliance with all Occupational, Health, Safety & Welfare policies and procedures

Who we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
  • Aircraft stores and logistics experience (desirable)
  • Stores, tooling and logistics experience (essential)
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Proficient computer skills including the ability to pick up new computer applications
  • Ability to understand and resolve complex problems and systems
  • Ability to handle challenging operational situations in a calm and rational manner
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and within a team

Desirable skills and experience
  • Cert IV in Warehousing Operations
  • Forklift Licence
  • Dangerous Goods experience and qualifications
