Description
headspace Cairns (under the direction of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (Queensland Section) limited) delivers primary and mental health services, alcohol and drug services, social, educational and vocational services to young people aged 12-25 years.
headspace Mental Health Clinicians provide-
- Mental health assessment and coordination of access to appropriate service provision
- Mental health services to young people, and their families
- Brief evidence-based mental health interventions, counselling services and treatment planning
- Advocacy for and engagement with young people
What we are looking for:
To be considered in this role you will need;
- Qualifications in Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social Work
- Hold current AHPRA or AASW professional registration
- Demonstrated experience in provision of mental health services for young people
Note- Provisional Psychologists who are eligible for professional registration can be considered for headspace positions.

Successful candidates will be subject to a Police Check, may be required to undergo a medical assessment and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
You will also be required to successfully complete the RFDS credentialing process which includes providing certified copies of qualifications/registrations and evidence of immunity or vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD).
RFDS (Queensland Section) works with vulnerable patients and clients in remote parts of Queensland and provides an essential service to many regional and remote communities. To ensure the health and safety of our staff, our patients, clients and these communities, as well as to manage the risks involved in service delivery and COVID-19 transmission in these communities and our workplaces, our staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are the successful candidate the requirement to be vaccinated against COVID-19, including maintaining any recommended booster requirements, will be a term of your employment, as will the requirement to provide proof of vaccination.
Non AHPRA registered professionals will need to obtain a Blue Card prior to commencement.
