The RFDS is seeking a skilled Flight Nurse to provide network support across QLD providing inter-hospital transfers and aeromedical retrievals!

Description

As a network support Flight Nurse, you would support the RFDS in Queensland by relieving at any one of our 7 bases. The successful candidate would need to be available for periods of time of both planned and unplanned shifts involving overnight stays in location. This includes rostered periods of up to 2 weeks with roster periods usually being 4 days on.

About the role;

• Based from Brisbane, but other locations will be considered

• Provide inter-hospital transfers and aeromedical retrievals

Who we are looking for?

Experienced and high-performing Registered Nurse and Midwife with AHPRA registration, with exceptional patient care and equal commitment to contributing to team and operational goals.

Essential Skills;

• 5 years post graduate experience (full time equivalent) (FTE).
• Minimum of 3-5 years in a critical care environment; 24 hour in-department medical coverage (this experience is needed within the last 7 years).
• Ability to spend considerable time working in the confined spaces of a small aircraft
• Flexibility and availability for overnight, intra-state deployments

Desirable Skills (Can be obtained after starting employment)

• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS)
• Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal resuscitation certification

Successful candidates will be subject to a Police Checks and Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing. Candidates are required to hold a current, unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence and obtain an ASIC Card.
