Description
The role of Risk and Assurance (HSEQ) Coordinator will assist the Risk and Assurance team in the day to day management of Workplace Health and Safety, Environment, Quality and Risk Management for Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS). In addition, this role will assist with the implementation and monitoring of the RFDS Integrated Management Systems (HSEQ). This role will support the provision of safe, efficient, economic and environmentally sound facilities to all RFDS Bases across the region.
The HSEQ Coordinator is a full-time position based in Brisbane. This role is maximum term contract until June 2022, with the possibility of an extension.
Key responsibilities
Your key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Reviewing of H&SE standards, policies, processes and systems
- Support the R&A team and the RFDS for ISO accreditation
- Assist with the H&SE induction requirements
- Assist with safety inspections, report on hazards and coordinate corrective action
- Coordinate regular site audits
- Assist in WHS incidents, accidents, emergencies and corrective action plans
- Provide specialised support to Line Managers in maintaining compliance
- Ensure all WHS training modules are kept current and relevant, including Fire Safety and Evacuation Programs
- Perform and assist with H&SE general administration tasks
Who we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
- Previous experience in a WHS coordination role
- High Degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience in auditing and reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Previous experience in health or aviation industries
- Previous experience in supporting accreditation to ISO45001 - ISO 14001 - ISO9001
- OHS Environmental Internal Auditor qualification
- Fire Safety Advisor certification
- Minimum of Work Health and Safety and /or Environmental qualification/certificate
- Current QLD Drivers Licence

Successful candidates will be subject to a Police Check, may be required to undergo a medical assessment and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Candidates are required to hold a current, unrestricted Australian driver's licence and obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card).
