Description
The Aviation Technical Support Officer delivers oversight of the governance and compliance systems, including Operation Manual documents in day to day Flight Operations in accordance with the CASA regulations, Queensland Health contract requirements, RFDS policy and procedures and accreditation standards.
This role also develops aviation-specific training programs, assists with projects and delivers initiatives for continuous improvement in the Aviation Department.
The Aviation Technical Support Officer is a full- time position on a maximum term contract of 2 years based at RFDS Brisbane Base.
Key responsibilities
Your key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Coordinate and manage check and training systems, operating procedures, training syllabi and compliance controls
- Provide technical advice, guidance and documentation supporting aviation systems and issue resolution
- Project planning and development for implementation of new training programs and initiatives
- Designs and monitors Aviation system compliance through a range of management checks and audits
- Technical writing to support of RFDS Operations and Training Systems
Who we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
- Minimum of Diploma in relevant study area i.e.- Quality Management and/or Aviation
- Demonstrated experience in the development of technical publications in aviation (manuals, procedures, training materials)
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated understanding of continuous quality improvement within the aviation industry
- Strong technical knowledge of flight operations and aviation check and training systems
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in aviation compliance and monitoring databases/ systems
- Knowledge of current CASA rules and regulation, including CASA Regulatory Reform, as well as aviation standards
- Knowledge and use of Air Maestro
- Previous Flight Operations experience (desirable)
