Description
Applications are now open for the role of State Manager- Mental Health. This role reports to the Executive General Manager Nursing & Clinical Services and is a Permanent full-time opportunity.
This role is responsible for service delivery, health outcomes, education, representation, advocacy, operational efficiency and financial performance of RFDS mental health services within the State of Queensland.
The role ensures strategic alignment between the Executive Leadership Team and mental health services provided by RFDS Queensland, whilst providing high-level direction, decision-making and leadership to mental health managers across the state. The role is responsible for mental health services operational planning and ensuring that these plans align to the strategic intent of the RFDS.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership, support and guidance to mental health managers to ensure safe and efficient delivery of mental health services
- Ensure all services are adequately resourced to deliver funded services by supporting mental health managers with workforce planning, management and recruitment of staff
- Work closely with mental health managers to develop operational plans, policies and procedures that ensure the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of mental health services
- Operationalise the RFDS Strategic Mental Health Framework
- Develop operational plans that ensure mental health services education aligns with strategic direction, supporting contemporary, high quality clinical practice
- Ensure adequacy of clinical equipment and consumables such that mental health activities are supported
- Expand and enhance mental health services, contributing to strategic direction and strategy development
- Manage state-wide mental health resources within approved budget.
To be considered for this role it is essential you meet the criteria below:
- University Degree relevant to area of clinical practise
- Masters level qualification or post graduate education in healthcare management or leadership (desirable)
- Well-developed management skills including demonstrated skills in leadership and decision making
- Ability to meet and maintain own clinical practice and credentialing requirements
- Demonstrated ability to promote and lead change
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary practice within Mental Health
- Ability to gain knowledge of enterprise agreements and legislation applicable to Mental Health
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic planning.
