Midwifery Scholarship 2021

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Qld are offering financial assistance towards a midwifery qualification for registered nurses with 3-5 years critical care experience who are interested in working with us.
Conditions
The midwifery qualification can be completed at any university/affiliated hospital that provides for the requirements for AHPRA registration as a midwife.
Once registered with AHPRA as a midwife, scholarship recipients will be required to work for a minimum of 12 months full time equivalent at a nominated RFDS base within Queensland.
Eligibility to apply
To be considered for the scholarship you will:
- Hold current registration as a General Nurse in Australia with AHPRA; and
- Demonstrated three to five years’ experience (full time equivalent) in a critical care environment in either a recognised Major Regional or Tertiary Hospital Emergency Department, with a 24 hour in-department medical coverage and/or a recognised Intensive Care Unit; and
- Provide evidence of an application or acceptance into a relevant midwifery course commencing in 2021 or be currently enrolled in a midwifery qualification and due for completion; and
- Hold valid working rights for Australia.

Successful recipients of the scholarship program may be subject to a Police Check and Drug and Alcohol Testing. Pre-employment medical assessments may be a requirement of this program. Successful recipients of the scholarship are required to hold a current, unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.
