Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced emergency medicine professional to join the Mount Isa Base Leadership team.
The Medical lead – Aeromedical will lead a team of emergency retrieval Doctors operating out of our Mount Isa Base serving regional, rural and remote Queenslanders. This is a permanent opportunity with the option to Fly in and Fly Out.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the service delivery, health outcomes, education, representation, advocacy, operational efficiency and financial performance of RFDS aeromedical services at our Mount Isa Base
- Develop and implement operational plans for Mount Isa Base
- Provide leadership, support and guidance to Medical Officers to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of aeromedical services
- Lead workforce planning and recruitment of Medical Officers to ensure the base is adequately resourced to deliver aeromedical services
- Engage with clinical governance processes and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Explore ways to expand and enhance aeromedical services, contributing to strategic direction and strategy development across the broader aeromedical team.
- Current AHPRA registration (Health Practitioner)
- Fellowship of the RACGP, ACCRM, ANZCA or ACEM
- 3 – 5 years relevant experience
- Credentialed or eligible to be credentialed for a scope of practice in prehospital and retrieval medicine
- Demonstrated experience in the areas of Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, and Anaesthetics
- Well-developed management skills including demonstrated skills in leadership and decision making
- Ability to meet credentialing requirements and maintain own clinical practice in aeromedical environment
- Demonstrated ability to implement change and a commitment to continuous quality management
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary Medical practice in the aeromedical environment.
