Description

The Community Relations Advisor provides professional communication and stakeholder engagement services to build and maintain the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) brand and reputation throughout Queensland, particularly in the local communities in which we operate.

Specifically, this role oversees a proactive community relations program that promotes our services and campaigns to regional, rural and remote Queensland communities, which includes attendance at regional shows, events and conferences.

The Community Relations Advisor is a Full-Time position based in Brisbane.

Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive community relations and stakeholder engagement plan for the communities in which the RFDS operates
  • Provide expert advice and support to operational staff on community and stakeholder engagement activities, including attendance of external events
  • Hands-on coordination of all community relations activities such as regional shows, community events, professional conferences and trade shows on behalf of RFDS
  • Manage volunteers and staff rosters for all community relations events – ensuring that all events are properly resourced
  • Coordinate all community relations activities that involve RFDS corporate and joint-venture partners
  • Ensure that the integrity of the RFDS brand is maintained during all community engagement activities
  • Provide general support to the marketing services team and contribute to the broader objectives of the Corporate Affairs and Marketing department[YH1][YH2]
  • Work collaboratively with all key internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist team members with internal communication, media, marketing services as required
  • Assist leaders to manage budget development and spend.
Who we are looking for?

To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communication, Event Management, Public Relations or similar
  • 5 to 7 years relevant experience
  • Significant experience in community relations and proactive stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills and the ability to manage tight deadlines
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing confidently with external stakeholders and suppliers
  • Solid experience in event management, with the ability and passion to travel to rural and remote areas for events as required
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of databases and campaign monitoring software and analytic tools.
