Description

The Financial Accountant leads a small team while supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) business objectives through financial reporting to relevant internal and external providers.

The Financial Accountant is a Full-Time position based in Brisbane, some travel may be required to regional locations in Queensland.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Finance Officer functions within the finance team
  • Collecting, reviewing and analysing data which is then used in the preparation of monthly management reports
  • Prepare and review journals for prepayments, accruals, allocations and depreciation
  • Manage input and accuracy of the RFDS National Finance system
  • Prepare and submit monthly Business Activity Statements and GST account reconciliation
  • Prepare annual FBT Return and Franking Credit Claim
  • Review monthly General Ledger Reconciliations and examining financial records for accuracy
  • Review fixed asset register and monthly depreciation
  • Assist with year-end statutory account preparation and external audit
  • Collaborate with and advise Leaders at all levels on financial management and reporting requirements
  • Manage the system administration functions for all finance related systems
  • Contributes to the development of the annual budget.
Who we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
  • 5 to 7 years relevant experience, with previous Not for Profit experience highly regarded
  • Advanced financial systems experience preferably using Technology1
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to use initiative
  • Ability to work across and influence at all levels including Executive and Senior Management.
